Whether you are a human

or merely a glob of paint sliding off the edge of my palette,

I trust you to fully exist as yourself.

I trust you to listen & react;

I trust you to rise & fall

in the way your structure allows.

Project (re)CREATE is a multimedia arts event discussing the cycles of creation through new music, visual art, and performance. This project highlights the pivotal moment where letting go is met with starting again. Just as Creation itself is in a constant state of renewal, I hope to bring a renewed perspective to the ways we can activate our own creative agencies.

Throughout the process of building these works, I have been both challenged and inspired by the limitations of my own body. What I first thought to be barriers have directed me to more authentic avenues of creation. As I combine alternative musical notation and sound production with expressive painting and sculpture, I am discovering how the limitations of one medium can bring a new perspective to another.

Painting is limited; music is limited; perception is limited.

Perhaps true freedom balances delicately on the line between chance and choice; chaos and control.

If through nothing but the cycles of water and wind,

Allow our souls to entwine

In this time

And space.
